Local Business Spotlight: Fare, 2028 Fairmount Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19130

Behind the Business

Fare was opened back in 2014 with the intention of bringing the popular “farm-to-table” trend to the residents of Fairmount. They achieve this by really focusing their menu to include local and sustainable ingredients, vendors, and local merchants and purveyors. Not only is the food local but the owners are as well. Being residents of Fairmount themselves they really take pride in bringing their fellow neighbors together to enjoy a great meal and unique cocktails. Their staff is some of the friendliest people around and enjoy bringing a casual yet elegant dining experience to their regulars! And it’s not just the food and drink that brings diners in, Fare invites local musicians and bands to play live music for guests at least once a week. Bringing people together for a good time and lots of laughs is their mission on Fairmount Avenue.

Why Fairmount

Fairmount brings together so many fellow small businesses and great residents that it was really a no-brainer when it came to choosing the location of Fare to be directly on Fairmount Avenue. Fare gives fellow business owners and their employees a place to spend happy hour and unwind during the week and residents and shoppers a fantastic brunch menu on the weekend. The casual atmosphere allows for a family-friendly vibe. The community feel of Fairmount is what gives this neighborhood restaurant and bar a warm and inviting feeling.

Adapting during Covid

Now that the city is opening up again, Fare has continued to provide a beautiful outdoor dining experience while also welcoming its regulars back into the dining room to enjoy their meal the way they used to. Fare’s side courtyard allowed diners to continue to come to Fare and enjoy eating oysters with a glass of wine all while keeping their patrons safe.

If You’re in the Area

Fare is definitely the spot to go if you’re looking for amazing seafood dishes or food with a Mediterranean flair. Their Farmhouse flatbread, avocado crab cakes, and octopus small plates are definite must-haves. Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-free or Dairy-free? They’ve got you covered! Fare’s versatile menu offers an array of dishes to accommodate everyone’s food preferences. Don’t forget the cocktails either! Besides a large selection of wines, beers, and whiskeys, Fare’s Very Dirty Martini and Farmer’s Tonic cocktails are must-tries!
