Behind the Business: Fairmount Hardware has had a presence in the Fairmount Area for over 20 years. In 2013 the store went through a revitalization when it went under new management,which has brought a breath of fresh air to the long standing neighborhood establishment. As a longtime resident of Fairmount himself, the Owner wanted to serve the community with a huge, in-stock selection of home improvement and home repair products as well as the ability to special order difficult or specialty home and tool items. Providing a higher level of friendly and knowledgeable service is what really sets this hardware store apart from the bigger box stores.

Neighbors and employees alike all know each other and have built such a friendly environment for everyone. Adapting during Covid: Fairmount Hardware remained open throughout the pandemic as an essential business. From the beginning (and even prior to the pandemic), the store had a vast selection of PPE equipment. Masks, disinfectants, sanitizers and gloves were available to the community during a time when larger retailers simply could not keep up with the demand.
As many residents of the neighborhood transitioned to spending more time at home, they turned to Fairmount Hardware to help aid in their home renovation and improvement projects now needed to make the transition as smooth and quick as possible.
At the store, staff and employees conducted business with safety for themselves and the customers being the top priority. Staff retrieved products from inside the store and curbside checkout and pickup was utilized.
