Behind the Business:
There are hundreds of thousands of people out there who dream of quitting their jobs and opening their own business. Most of the time it stays a dream, but Stephanie Ford and Sonja West did it! Building off of their love of not just coffee but of the whole coffee shop experience, they decided to take a risk and open Coffee Cream & Dreams in the Fall of 2019. Stephanie said that there’s just something about coffee shops, it’s the whole ambiance that pushed her and her business partner to open their own coffee shop.
Why Fairmount:
Fairmount wasn’t their first choice but it turned out to be exactly what they were looking for. They found their perfect opportunity in a corner space with large windows that provided them with a bright and airy place to begin their business with the foot traffic to make their business thrive. The fact that Fairmount offers an exceptional walkable neighborhood and the most congenial patrons and residents was just the bonus they were hoping for.
Adapting during Covid:
Covid shut downs hit Coffee Cream & Dreams, but they didn’t let that stop them from safely continuing to serve their loyal customers. When the pandemic first hit and the state ordered businesses to close, Stephanie and Sonja launched online ordering and contactless pick up within 2 days. They really credit their survival during the pandemic to their regulars and express their gratitude.

It’s true that Fairmount is not lacking in coffee shops, but Coffee Cream & Dreams is described by its patrons as the friendliest coffee shop around. Not only providing excellent coffee and delicious pastries, but a great vibe the second you enter. It’s a coffee shop that “feels like home” and guarantees you will leave with a smile!
